I am
a first-generation American.
My parents moved to the United States from India with less than $25. We had no safety net, building our lives from scratch. My family believes in the power of positive thinking and hard work.
For me, my Ma’s homemade meals, Papa’s sense of humor, and brother’s strong friendship is home. I went to Title I schools, but was fortunate enough to be accepted into a specialized public school that changed my life.
I am a person with a disability - who graduated from college when I was 20, - in 3.5 years with two degrees. My Masters is in Public Policy from Columbia, (where I met my partner, Shivam).
From regulating big banks at the Federal Reserve and advocating for small business protections on the Hill, to building climate resiliency products and movements for minority rights - I have the experience to bring new progressive ideas to Congress.
